Spam and scam emails costing your business money
This month I want to talk briefly about spam, scam and other malicious email. Here are some stats of note:
10% of all cases logged in our system in the last month were spam, scam or malicious other email related, more than double any other single issue. It’s great that staff are being proactive with these rather than taking a gamble and clicking links! But also highlights what a problem this really is.
40-70% of all emails sent in the world are spam depending on the day.
I’ll keep it simple – spam, scam and malicious emails are costing you money; reduced staff productivity – not to mention the losses if an employee is successfully scammed.
Unfortunately, there is no quick fix – the scammers are always one step ahead of even the best detection systems. What CAN be done is educate your staff and implement robust systems.
