Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2021
This October marks the 17th annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Although we should be thinking about Cybersecurity every month (I know I do) it’s great there is a formal event of such magnitude to keep us engaged between the AFL finals month and Movember! 😉
Please keep an eye on our socials for tips and tricks related to securing your business and increasing your Cybersecurity Resilience.
So long (for 3 months), and thanks for all the fish
Some of you might be aware that I celebrated my 10 year anniversary with Intuitive IT back in May, and with the year-end rapidly approaching I’ve decided to cash in my long service leave chits and take some (arguably) well deserved time off.
I’ll be away from the 1st of November to mid-Jan 2022 and you’ll be well looked after in my absence by Michael Cheung who covered for me admirably over the new year break last year.
It has been a privilege to work with you all over the last decade, so thanks for allowing Intuitive IT to be a part of your team. Here’s to many more years to come.
Cybersecurity Awareness Audit
This section normally sits at the bottom of this email, but we’ve raised it up for October given the aforementioned Cybersecurity month festivities!
If you have a friend that would like to know about how resilient their cybersecurity is, we can perform an audit for them. If they sign up for a paid service, you will receive a credit equivalent to their first month’s invoice.
Ransomware rollout complete
During September we rolled out our ransomware detection for FREE to all computers of our clients that have signed up for our newest managed services plans. The ongoing cost is absorbed into your monthly fee.
For those of you not on our newest plans, we recommend you take a look at signing up as you will receive unlimited support requests each month, as well as this ransomware protection and many more benefits.
We are also selling the protection at $5 per computer per month for those that wish to have it as a standalone product.
Windows 11 launch – Oct 5th
This month also marks the launch of Windows 11, Microsoft’s latest operating system. We’ve begun our initial testing of Windows 11 but at this stage, we are not recommending an upgrade.
There is no immediate benefit to upgrading and we will wait and watch for Microsoft to remediate any major issues before we recommend upgrading.
If you’d like to know more about the new features and the new ‘Mac-like’ interface, take a look at this CNET article.
Programming
Finally, I wanted to touch on the application development side of Intuitive IT, as the team has grown both in experience and size in the last few years.
Our seven-person team, lead by Gabriel have created some fantastic systems and integrations for our clients. Here’s a sample of some of the work we’ve done in the last 12 months.
- Upgraded and modernised a multi-million dollar eCommerce website
- Integrated a phone system with a CRM for better analytics of leads and clients
- Migrated millions of rows of data from an obsolete database to a cloud-based system
- Integrated an eCommerce system with their supplier to increase products available for purchase
- Built an integration between an eCommerce catalogue and the Facebook Ads platform for more targeted advertisements
If you are looking for smarter ways to work, we’ll be able to help you find the answers!
